Day 21, Bardstown, Kentucky

45 miles, 857 total miles.

Another beautiful ride, today to Bardstown, Kentucky, the bourbon capital of Kentucky.  Several bourbon distillers are located in the area and the town of 11,700 hosts the Kentucky Bourbon Festival each year.

We’re camping tonight in the My Old Kentucky Home State Park.

Weather’s heating up tomorrow and Sunday with temperatures in the 90s.

  1. my husband would love this place!

  2. Great bourbon — and great beer mixed with bourbon. Curious what you are calculating as expense per diem — less ice cream sundaes . . .

    • Hi Alan, some are spending almost nothing. We are provided with three meals, but breakfast is instant oatmeal and lunch is usually PB&J (just like your BGSU days!). For me, stopping at a convenience store or gas station and having a cold chocolate milk and a chicken salad sandwich is worth the cost. I’d guess I’m spending $10/day.
