Day 17 – Booneville, Kentucky

63 miles, 712 total.

Rode in the rain to Booneville, Kentucky, located in Owsley County, the 44th poorest county in the United States.  Lots of dogs along the way . . . and it seems the more low-income’ish the home the more dogs there are!

No! Russ, stop with the road shots!

Have you noticed . . . all the road photos are the same image, just Photoshoped differently!

We spent the night in an open shelter behind a church.  They did have a shower for us . . . but without any warm water.  Talk about a bracing shower.

A blog follower from Weston, TN, Max Young, wrote asking about bathroom facilities along the route, as we’re riding.

Max, good question.  Luckily the small gas stations have very clean bathrooms.  Those checksheets you see in some bathrooms where an employee checks and cleans every hour . . . I’m sure that’s done in this one as well!

You can picture the toilet!
